Members are assigned membership cards when they sign up to a loyalty program or club. You can scan membership cards at POS when a patron makes a transaction, which makes it easy to earn, track, and spend loyalty points.
A card's status is automatically updated when a card is assigned to a member or when other significant changes have occurred.
Note: Loyalty programs can be implemented without cards, but card-based programmes are recommended to minimise fraud and make POS transactions more efficient.
Cards are managed in Loyalty > Loyalty Admin > Members > Cards.
Card styles can be defined per club.
When cards are generated in Loyalty Admin, before they're issued, allocate a card style that can be validated on card activation. This ensures that the card a member is assigned will match their club.
Tip: Enable card style validation by setting LoyaltyCardIssueToCardStyleClub to Yes. Find this setting in Loyalty > Loyalty Admin > Configuration > Settings.
Create cards in the loyalty system in these ways:
- Add an Individual card number through the Card page.
- Bulk generate card numbers through the Bulk Cards page.
- Add a card number from POS when a member is activated.
Note: This is only applicable when the configuration setting AllowCreateCardOnActivate is Yes.
- Import card number from a file using the VistaLoyaltyImport program.
