Films
In Loyalty, Films are called Movies and are tracked with the sales transaction. Movies that the member has attended will be displayed in the Sales Transaction screen. Movies can be manually entered into Loyalty to match the movie codes used at the Cinema or there is a script in the install package that can be modified to update the film data that has been used in loyalty sales channel transactions from the Head Office database or from a Cinema database.
Rules can also use movies when a purchasing activity or purchase value threshold rule is created, a film can be part of the criteria. Recognitions also use movies (optional) to limit the reward by movie.
Items
Items are anything purchased by a member. This could be in the form of movie tickets, concessions or vouchers and gift cards. Also included in the items list are special offer items. Item details are displayed in the Sales Transactions screen. Items can be manually entered into Loyalty to match the Code/HOCode (depending on a system setting) value at the Cinema. Alternatively, the codes can uploaded periodically from the script in the install package.
Items can be assigned an earning adjustment and a redemption adjustment that will override the default earning adjustment and redemption adjustment of the balance type. Items defined belong to an Item Class and an Item Class belongs to an Item Group.
The Item Group of a concession item class must always be selected as 'CONCESSIONS'. The Item Group of a ticket must always be selected as 'BOX OFFICE'. The remaining item Group is 'DISCOUNT'. A discount item contains the code of a discount at the Cinema. It works only with a recognition that has a Price type set to 'Apply Discount Code'.
Examples
- The item Coke Large belongs to the item class of Postmix in Loyalty (matches the same item class at the Cinema), and this item class belongs to the item group of CONCESSIONS.
- Adult ticket belongs to a general item class in Loyalty called tickets (does not need to match the ticket class at the Cinema) and this item class belongs to the item group of BOX OFFICE.
- An item with code 'DISC' belongs to an item class in Loyalty called Discounts and this item class belongs to the item group of DISCOUNT. At the Cinema DISC is defined as a discount code header record.
Rules use items when a purchasing activity rule or a purchase value threshold rule is created. Item Class can be part of the criteria. Recognitions also use Items as the type of reward or discount.
