When operating in Item mode, each member loaded into a transaction is assigned to a ticket. The diagram below illustrates how points are shared for the following example transaction:
- Three tickets
- One popcorn
- Three drinks
- Only two members, one person does not have a Loyalty card.
- Box Office points balance type is set to Share Earned Units, and concessions points balance type is not.
Box Office points are not shared, so each member receives the points earned by the ticket they are assigned to; the leftover ticket not assigned to any member (Ticket 2) has its points given to the primary member (Member 1). The total points earned from concessions purchases are divided equally between the two members:
This is the recommended configuration for Item mode, as members are each given the points earned by their ticket type. If the Box Office points balance type is also set to Share Earned Units, members will each receive the average points value, which may be higher or lower than their actual ticket.
For example, an adult ticket earns 5 points and a child ticket 3. Each member would receive 4 points (5 + 3 = 8 / 2 = 4).
Sharing both Box Office andcConcessions points in Item mode has the same result as the Order mode configuration.
