The Film that the Contract is for.

Film Format

One or more film formats associated with the film

The Film Format that the contract applies to. You can assign contracts to different formats of a single film (for example: 2D and 3D) that have different film hire terms.

Note: If a contract created for a specific format exists, it will over-ride a contract created for all formats.

Attributes

Any configured Attribute

The attributes that the contract applies to. You can assign contracts that have different film hire terms to different attributes of a single film (for example, different film languages).

The attribute record must have Available on Contracts selected to be available here.

Note: If multiple attributes are selected, only sessions that have all the attributes will have the contract applied to them.

Sneak

The Contract Type can be defined to record private screenings and sneak previews separately from standard screenings, which may potentially have different terms of play.

Note: In order for a Session to be correctly recognised as a private screening or sneak preview, it must be set up in Cinema Manager.

Distribution Terms

Any configured Distribution Term

The Distribution Terms used for the Contract.

Use the Lookup tool to search for the required terms.

Click Drilldown to open the Distribution Terms maintenance form for the currently selected record.

Cinemas and Screens

Any configured Cinema

The cinema or cinemas that the Contract applies to.

Add cinemas by clicking on the grid row with the asterisk. Use the Add Cinema Group/Add Circuit/Delete Cinema buttons to add or remove multiple Cinemas in this section.

Start Date

Any date and time

The earliest date and time that a Session of this Film (and for this type) will be shown at the selected Cinema.

Note: When a film is selected, this field is automatically set to match the Opening Date of the film, as configured in Film maintenance.

Length (Weeks)

Any number

A number of weeks that the selected Film is expected to run for.

Starting Year

Any year

The year in which the selected Film is first shown.

Note: When a film is selected, this field will automatically be set to match the Starting Year of the film, as configured in Film maintenance.

Period

Any number

The Business Period of the year that the selected Film starts in.

Note: If Business Periods are set up correctly, the Period will be automatically selected based on the Start Date.

Reference Code

1–20 characters

A code by which to identify the Contract.

Advance per cinema/screen

Any monetary value

An amount already paid to the Distributor in advance. This is subtracted from the calculated payment for each Screen.

Determines how House Costs are calculated for Film Hire if the contract is used for sessions across multiple Screens:

Calculate Per Cinema/Screen (Standard) - House Costs for each screen are calculated in a single Film Hire record.

Always Pin To Single Selected Screen - House Costs for one specified screen are used for sessions in all screens.

Always Split To Actual Screens - Each screen is split into a separate Film Hire record with its own House Costs.

Pin To Large Screen - House Costs for the largest screen (probably with the highest House Costs) are used for sessions in all screens.

Pin To Small Screen - House Costs for the smallest screen (probably with the lowest House Costs) are used for sessions in all screens.

Calculate Per Print - House Costs are calculated based on Print Number, rather than the screen.

Note: This field is only available if House Costs is set to Fixed.

House Cost Value

The House Costs value used for sessions with the contract.

This will override the House Costs as configured on the Cinema Screens (Film Hire) maintenance form for the screen of any session using the contract.

Note: This field is only available if House Costs is set to Upper Limit or Fixed.

Payment Terms

Any configured Payment Term

The payment terms arranged for the film hire contract. This determines how many days after the start of the Film Hire Week payment is due.

Ticket Fee Sharing Applies

If the checkbox is selected, the contract can be configured for sharing Ticket Fee revenue between the cinema and Distributor(s).

Distributors

Any Distributors associated with the Contract's Film

The Distributor with whom Box Office Revenue from the corresponding Ticket Fee will be shared for sessions using the contract, according to the corresponding Distribution Terms.

Note: This field is only available if Ticket Fee Sharing Applies is selected.

Ticket Fee

Any configured Ticket Fee

When a ticket with the selected Ticket Fee is sold to a session of a film with a Cinema Film Hire Contract that includes the Ticket Fee, the Box Office Revenue gathered by that Ticket Fee is shared between the cinema and the Distributor based on the corresponding Distribution Terms.

Note: This field is only available if Ticket Fee Sharing Applies is selected.
