When buttons are added to the page, they may be added in the standard size and preformatted style. It is possible to change standard button appearance to customise the way the button looks on the page.
Altering the button colour
The colour of the button can be changed using the colour options on the main Design ribbon tab. Colour options available include the Top Colour and Bottom Colour selections.
The colour dropdown can be used to select standard colours and previously customised colours. The entire Colour Dialog can be opened by clicking directly on the Top Colour or Bottom Colour buttons or clicking More Colours from the colour dropdown. The Colour Dialog enables customised colours to be selected.
Colours can be selected from the Colour Dialog either by selecting a colour shade or entering the colour code. Once the required colour is selected, it can be assigned to the Custom Colours section for repeated use.
Selecting a different top colour and bottom colour will create a multicoloured button. Selecting the same colour for the top and bottom will create a standard single coloured button.
Resizing the button
The size of the button can be altered by selecting the button and dragging it to the desired size. Multiple buttons can be selected and altered at the same time by pressing CTRL and selecting the buttons required.
Button size can also be altered by matching the size to another button. This is described in the following section.
Changing the text display and style
The text displayed on a button can have its font, size, alignment, emphasis and colour changed to suit using the Font and Text options on the main Design ribbon tab.
The actual text style displayed can be changed from the default of Short, to either None (no text displayed), Medium (long concession description), Custom (customised description entered), and Custom (with price).
Changing the text style to custom will display any text that has been entered by the user, if there is no custom text to display then the button will display no text.
Note: Although you can change the font size, style, and colour for certain text elements in POS (for example, concession buttons), it's not possible to change these across the board, for fixed-text elements.
Customising the button text
Text on the button can be customised to display text that a user enters themselves, eg. a name for a concession that is different from the short and medium text descriptions.
To enter customised text on a button:
- In POS Designer, right-click the button and select Edit Text.
- Type the new text for the button.
- Press the Enter key or click out of the button textbox.
To go back to the default concession text, select either the Short or Medium text style.
Note: Custom text will be saved once it is entered as the Custom text style. It is possible to use a standard text style and then change back to the custom text by selecting the Custom text style.
