Concession Profiles determine which Concession Items and Vouchers are available as buttons on each POS interface, determining where the buttons appear on the screen. Concession profiles are also a way of grouping terminals together on the basis of the items that they sell.
For example: Concessions, Box Office, Bar.
A profile called Candy Bar may be configured to only include a restricted set of items such as packaged sweets. This profile can then be assigned to terminals to limit the items that can be sold. At least one Concession Profile must be set up, and each profile can be configured with up to 24 buttons on each sub menu.
Concession Profiles are applied to workstations in Workstation Maintenance. Profiles can be applied to more than one workstation.
Note: Concession profiles are used mainly for Kiosk sales channels. While POS terminals can also make use of concession profiles, a more sophisticated layout can be achieved at POS using POS Designer application.
Concession Profiles can also be converted to POS Designer profiles.
Note: When creating a new record, the Concession Profile code and Name must first be specified and saved before continuing. At least one Tab Title (and optionally, the Alternate Language) must then be specified and saved before Buttons can be configured in the table.
Configure Concession Profiles in Cinema Manager > Maintenance.
Creating concession profiles
When creating a new Concession Profile, the Concession Profile code and Name must first be specified and saved before continuing. At least one Tab Title (and optionally, the Alternate Language) must then be specified and saved before Buttons can be configured in the table.
Concession profiles can be converted to POS Profiles in the POS Designer application.
Deleting concession profiles
A Concession Profile can be deleted from the maintenance form by selecting Delete from the Vista dropdown menu.
A confirmation message will appear before the profile is completed to ensure the delete is intended.
Warning! When a profile is deleted, the profile including all associated tabs and buttons will also be deleted completely.
Configuring the tabs section
Concession Profile Tabs are used to group the items for sale onto a single screen, called a Tab here. This can be used to assist POS operators in locating a particular item, by putting similar items together on the same tab.
For example: Concession profile tabs could be set up to include all or some of the following groups:
- Concessions - popcorn, sweets, soft drinks
- Kitchen - cooked food such as pizza, burgers or fries
- Coffee Bar - espresso coffee drinks
- Drinks - beer and wine
- Voucher - voucher booklets
- Ice Cream - ice cream, sundaes
A new tab can be created by clicking the row marked with the * and entering the Tab Title. The Profile Tab ID will then be generated automatically, and the Alternate Language title can also be defined. Select a tab to edit its details and configure the associated buttons. Each tab can be configured with up to 24 buttons, each corresponding to a Concession Item.
When a tab is moved or inserted, the whole Concession Profile record must be saved. A prompt will be displayed to confirm this. If the checkbox on the prompt window is selected, the confirmation message will not be shown again. When a tab is deleted, a prompt will be displayed to confirm this if there are Buttons associated with the tab. If no buttons are configured for the selected tab, it will be deleted without warning.
Configuring the buttons section
Concession Profile Buttons are used by POS operators to add Concession Items to an order. Concession Profile Tabs are configured with up to 24 buttons. The grid indicates the layout in which the buttons will be displayed on POS.
Click an empty grid square to configure a new button by associating a concession item with it, or select an existing button to edit its settings. Font and Colour can be configured manually, or copied from an existing button by using the Same As dropdown list.
To remove a button, select the Blank option from the Item dropdown list. This will also remove the font and colour configured for the button. The Disabled checkbox can also be used to configure the button as hidden from view at POS, without completely removing it.
Note: A new or copied Concession Profile must be saved before buttons can be added to the concession profile.
The Same As dropdown list will only load items that have already been saved. When a new button is created, it must be saved before it appears in the dropdown list.

Note: POS Tabs refer to the tabs at the top of the POS Screen, i.e. Tickets, Concessions, Tabs. Concession Profile Tabs refer to the buttons at the bottom of the Concessions POS Tab, e.g. Food, Drinks, Sweets.
