For legal or business reasons, your cinema may need to record the residential area of each patron who buys a gift card.

POS can prompt an operator to enter a postal code during the sale of gift cards from the Payment or Concession screen.

Warning! In certain jurisdictions (for example: California) it may be illegal to record a patron’s postal code. Check your local laws and regulations before proceeding.

Note: A supervisor with appropriate security authorisation can override this requirement at sale time. This may be necessary when a patron has no postal code (for example: foreign visitors).

Steps

1. Configure POS to prompt for a patron's postal code during sales of gift cards:
   1. In Cinema Manager go to Maintenance > System Settings.
   2. Select the category POS and click OK.
   3. Double click the System Setting ZIPRequiredForGiftCardIssue and change its value to Yes.
   4. Click Save.
2. Configure the security level required to override postal code entry:
   1. Cinema Manager go to Maintenance > System Settings.
   2. Select the category POS-SECURITY and click OK.
   3. Double click the System Setting SecurityGiftCardIssueZIPReq and enter the appropriate option.
   4. Click Save.
