For legal or business reasons, your cinema may need to record the residential area of each patron who buys a gift card.
POS can prompt an operator to enter a postal code during the sale of gift cards from the Payment or Concession screen.
Warning! In certain jurisdictions (for example: California) it may be illegal to record a patron’s postal code. Check your local laws and regulations before proceeding.
Note: A supervisor with appropriate security authorisation can override this requirement at sale time. This may be necessary when a patron has no postal code (for example: foreign visitors).
Steps
- Configure POS to prompt for a patron's postal code during sales of gift cards:
- In Cinema Manager go to Maintenance > System Settings.
- Select the category POS and click OK.
- Double click the System Setting ZIPRequiredForGiftCardIssue and change its value to Yes.
- Click Save.
- Configure the security level required to override postal code entry:
- Cinema Manager go to Maintenance > System Settings.
