Vista can operate in one of the following modes for the purposes of item analysis:
- In the Default mode, items can belong to up to three independent item classes (Item Class 1, 2, and 3). Items must belong to at least one item class (Item Class 1).
- In Hierarchy mode, items may belong to a hierarchy up to three levels deep, of which the first level must Item Class 1, and subsequent levels are entirely configurable. The top level is the item class assigned to the item when running an existing inventory report.
Setting up a flat item class
Use this method to assign up to 3 different item classes against each item used for inventory reporting.
- Go to Cinema Manager > Maintenance > Item Hierarchy Manager.
- Select Define Items in Hierarchy.
- Select Item Class 1.
Note: This will be the primary item class used in all reports.
- To assign item classes to an item, click the down arrow, and select an option from the drop-down list.
- Save.
Setting up Hierarchy mode
This is useful if you'd rather track items by assigning each one to a subclass within an item class.
- Go to Cinema Manager > Maintenance > Item Hierarchy Manager.
- Select Define Items in Hierarchy.
- To create a lower-level item class, select an existing class and choose Add.
- Save.
