You can create future versions of price cards to configure new pricing in advance. For example, you can prepare for a planned price increase by creating a future version of a price card and specifying an effective date. On the effective date, POS operators will be prompted to update the price card and ticket prices will reflect your new configuration.
Note: Future versions apply to the base price card and any derived price cards as a single unit.
- Go to Head Office Manager or Cinema Manager > Maintenance > Price Cards and open the price card for which you need a future version.
- Click Future Version in the ribbon. A new tab for today appears next to the Current tab, with all same the ticket types and settings.
Tip: If one or more future versions of the price card already exist, select the version with the settings you'd like to copy and work from before clicking Future Version. Multiple future versions can be helpful when you know ahead of time what price adjustments you'll need to make. For example, if you have a planned price increase that will go into effect after your normal holiday pricing adjustment and a last-chance discount week, you might configure three future versions of a price card.
- Edit details in the new tab as needed.
- On the General tab, select a future effective date.
Note: You can select any date, but if you choose a date for which there are already POS sessions, you'll be prompted to either apply the new settings to the existing POS session or keep using the original price card in the POS sessions. If you keep the original price card in effect, you can update to the new settings in Showtime Manager or Session Maintenance when you're ready.
- Click Apply.
- Click Save.
