If an item or item package contains alternate items, you must decide how you want your alternate items to be sent to the cinema.

• Item/item package level - all the alternate items belonging to that item or item package will be visible at linked sites.
• Alternate item level - link alternate items to specific sites to control whether each alternative item is visible.

Example

ABC Cinemas' Hammersmith site only stocks and sells Coke and Sprite, while the Bond Street site only stocks and sells Fanta and Coke. A Parent Sales Item Small Drink with the flavour Options Coke, Sprite, and Fanta is created at Head Office. The flavours Coke and Sprite are linked to Hammersmith, while the flavours Fanta and Coke are linked to Bond Street. When Small Drink is downloaded to the cinemas as part of a combo, Fanta is not downloaded to Hammersmith and Sprite is not downloaded to Bond Street.

System setting

To enable the filter described in the example, complete the following steps:

1. Set the system setting LinkAlternateItemsToCinema to No.
2. In Linking and Site Variable Data, find the relevant alternate items and configure linking for each site.

This download behaviour can only be set for Parent Sales Items, Alternate Items (Options, Features, Upsells, Modification Groups, Modifiers) and Promotions and Discounts.
