Create table layouts to apply to venues and keep track of table orders at POS. Add backgrounds and shapes to build a picture representative of your seating area.

Create a new table layout

1. Open the POS Designer in Maintenance > POS Designer.
2. Click File > New > Table Layout Profile.
3. Enter a name for the table layout profile.
4. Select the screen resolution of the POS terminal(s) that will use the profile:
   1. Click Change Screen Size.
   2. Select the New Screen Size. For example: 1024 x 768 (XGA)\
   3. Click OK.
   4. Save the table layout profile.

Adding a background image to a table layout

POS Designer allows you to place a pre-made background image that represents the room or environment that the table layout correspond to. Tables and chairs can then be placed on top of it as required.

1. In POS Designer, open the required Table Layout Profile.
2. In Windows Explorer, locate the background image you wish to use. You may wish to use an existing image of your restaurant area.

   Note: Ideally, the image should be the same size as the Screen Resolution of the layout.

3. Drag-and-drop the image file from Windows Explorer onto the dotted grid in POS Designer. The image will appear on the grid.
4. A Media Set is automatically created for the image.
5. Position and resize the background image to fit the table layout profile.
6. You can also use images already in the Media Library: Insert > Media Library.

Adding shape objects to a table layout

Shape objects are useful to represent the physical environment of your restaurant if you don't want to use a pre-made backgroud image.

1. In POS Designer, select a Shape: Insert > Shape.
2. Choose one of the following shapes: 
   1. Rectangle - useful for marking thick walls or straight bars.
   2. Oval - useful for round stages stages.
   3. U Shape - useful for curved bars.
   4. L Shape - useful for bar corners.
   5. Line - useful for marking thin walls.
3. Click in the dotted grid to create a shape.
4. Resize and position the shape as necessary.
   1. Click-and-drag on a point to resize.
   2. Click-and-hold the Rotate handle of the selected shape to rotate it.
5. Repeat steps 1–3 as required.
