When a user logs on to a POS terminal, their settings may be determined by the Work Area they are logged on as, or the Workstation record of the particular POS terminal.
Linking workstations to a table layout
Table Layout Profiles can be assigned to Workstations from POS Designer.
- Open the required Table Layout Profile: General Maintenance > Workstations & Profiles > POS Designer
- On the Links tab, click Workstations. The Workstation Links window appears.
- Use the Workstation Group tree structure to select the Workstation(s) you want to use the table layout.
- Click OK to return to POS Designer.
- Save the table layout profile. The selected workstations will use the table layout on POS.
- Other settings on Workstation maintenance can also be used to determine the table layout behaviour.
Workstations configuration options
The following settings can be used to determine the default view and behaviour of a Workstation with respect to Graphic Table Layouts. The options are available on the Checks tab of Workstation or Function Template maintenance, and in Work Area maintenance.
Note: Work Area settings can override Workstation settings. If a user selects a Work Area when logging on to a POS terminal, the settings of the Work Area take precedence over the Workstation settings.
