Making a Ticket Type available only for sessions on a specific day or at a specific time can be helpful if you want to, for example, offer weekday or particular day of the week special pricing, either for all patrons or for a particular group, such as students or children.
You'll most often configure ticket type availability by adding the ticket type to a price card and making the price card available for only the times you need. However, if a ticket type's availability is the only difference between normal pricing and specific pricing, or if the window of time for which the ticket type is available is very small, you might not want to create and maintain a price card for that situation. Instead, you'll restrict the availability of the ticket type.
Note: When you restrict the availability of a ticket type, that ticket type is available only during the periods you specify, regardless of what the valid days and times of the price card are.
- Go to Head Office Manager or Cinema Manager > Maintenance > Ticket types and create or open a ticket type.
- In the Sales Policy tab, select Ticket Type is Restricted by Day and/or Time.
- Enter the Valid Days and Times of sessions for which the ticket type can be sold.
Tip: Choose Every Day to allow the ticket type to be sold for sessions playing at the same times on any day of the week. To switch from this setup to more complex restrictions later, right click the Every Day row and choose Show Each Day to again see a row for each day of the week.
- Save. If you created a new ticket type, be sure to include it on a price card.
