Attributes, such as subtitled, 3D, or IMAX, identify particular characteristics that track different marketing or technical properties of entities such as Sessions, Films, Movie Formats, and Screens. Attributes can have an assigned type, which allows you to separate different types of information, such as details that help with daily operations and details that help with promotion and marketing.
For example, you might use one type of attribute to help you create sessions for 35mm films in the correct theatre, and you might use another type of attribute to help you identify the parent-and-baby sessions that you want to announce to a subset of your patrons.
Apply attributes to sessions in Film Programming or Showtime Manager. Apply attributes to bookings in Film Programming. You can also assign attributes in the Film, Movie Format, and Screen maintenance forms. Go to Head Office Manager or Cinema Manager > Maintenance > Attributes to create and manage attributes.
Benefits of using Attributes
Attributes are a flexible feature that you can use in a variety of ways to keep patrons and employees informed, and to optimize your system build and reporting.
Improve the movie-goer experience
Attributes can appear in Digital Signage, in Kiosk, and in Vista Web, helping your patrons identify movies they'll enjoy and find similar sessions.
Improve the staff experience
Attributes can appear in the Notes section of the Alternate Ticket screen on POS and in Showtime Manager, and attributes assigned to formats or screens can automatically be applied to sessions during film programming. Easy access to the information provided by attributes can make it easier for cinema employees to answer patron questions and to sell, schedule, or promote specific films and sessions.
In addition, you can set up automatic movie format to screen matching with attributes that reflect the projection requirements of a film and the capabilities of a screen. The matching process can help prevent scheduling a film in a screen that does not have the necessary equipment to play it, and it can help you integrate Vista with your theatre management system (TMS).
The system can also use a session's attributes to suggest price cards for a session, making it easier for you to price sessions correctly and consistently.
Simplify record maintenance
Configuring films with movie format attributes removes the need to create and maintain multiple film records for different formats, such as Avatar 2D and Avatar 3D.
Simplify reporting
Attributes can track session statistics at Head Office, helping you report at the level of experience or format, with additional analytical dimensions in Infoworks.
