Card Type

Any configured Card Type

The Card Type that will be affected by this surcharge when it is used for a transaction. Card types are configured using the Card Definition maintenance form.

Note: If this field is left blank, the surcharge will apply to ALL card types.

Payment Type

Any Payment Type with Tender Category configured as Surcharge

The Payment Type that the surcharge will be tagged with when this Card Type is used.

Card Type Effective From

Any date, in your computer's local date format

The date that the Card Type Surcharge becomes active.

Effective To

Any date, in your computer's local date format

The date that the Card Type Surcharge becomes inactive.

Payment Channel

Any Sales Channel

The Sales Channel that this surcharge will be used in.

For example: A Card Type Surcharge may be configured to specific sales channels so that the surcharge affects transactions when this Card Type is used at Kiosk and Vista Web but not when it is used at POS.

Account Type

DEBIT

CREDIT

This specifies whether the account used for the surcharge is a debit account or a credit account in a particular Sales Channel.

% Surcharge

Any percentage

The percentage of the total transaction cost that is added as a surcharge when this Card Type is used.

For example: A purchase of $20.00 with a % Surcharge of 5% will incur a surcharge of $1.00 when this card type is used, therefore the total transaction cost will be $21.00.

Fixed Amount

Any monetary value

A fixed currency value that is added to the total transaction cost as a surcharge when this Card Type is used.

For example: A purchase of $20.00 with a Fixed Amount of $5.00 will have a total transaction cost of $25.00

If both % Surcharge and Fixed Amount are set, the total surcharge added is the % surcharge plus the fixed amount.

For example: A purchase of $20.00 with a % surcharge of 5% and a fixed amount of $5.00 will incur a total surcharge of $6.00 when this Card Type is used, therefore the total transaction cost will be $26.00.
