The name of the Card Definition. For example: AMEX, Visa, MasterCard. |
Definition Has Extended Card Range |

If the checkbox is selected, the Extended Card Range tab becomes available, where extended ranges are configured that correspond to particular brands of the card type. For example: The Visa card type might have extended ranges configured for Visa cards issued by particular banks. This can be used for restricting Promotions to certain types of cards. |
Range Start |

The initial digits of the card number that are the start of the range for the Card Definition. |
Range End |
6 digits |
The initial digits of the card number that are the end of the range for the Card Definition. The Range End value is exclusive. For example: If the Range End is 510000, only cards up to 509999 will be included in the card definition. Note: If Definition Has Extended Card Range is selected, this field is disabled. The extended card range defines the rest of the range. |
Brand |
1–20 characters |
The Brand field can be used to link a Card Definition to a particular Ticket Type. This allows the special ticket type to be purchased only when the associated card definition is used for payment. See Restricting sales of a ticket type to a card payment method. |
Issuing Bank |
1–20 characters |
The bank that issued the card. For example: HSBC, Bank of America. |
GL Account Code |
Any configured General Ledger Account |
The General Ledger Account that transactions using the Card Definition will be associated with. For example: A card definition for AMEX may be configured with a GL Account Code such as AMEX Receivables. |
Payment Card |

If the checkbox is selected, this card will be able to be used for payment; if the checkbox is cleared, it will not be able to be used for payment. For example: Loyalty cards from a 3rd-party system may be configured as non-payment cards. |
Category |
Credit Debit Member Any user entered value |
This specifies what type of card the Card Definition is for. Vista has 3 default options; Credit, Debit and Member. You may also enter your own Category. For example: Stored Value. Once a custom category has been saved on a card definition, it will be listed as an option in the dropbox for all card definitions. |
Payment Type |
Any configured Payment Type |
When a card belonging to the Card Definition is swiped in a card reader at POS, payment will automatically begin processing the transaction with the configured Payment Type. For example: The AMEX Card Definition may be configured with the Payment Type Credit Card. This allows POS operators to begin payment processing immediately upon swiping a card, without having to select the Payment Type from a Payment Button on in the Payment window. |
Check for Loyalty Integration |

This option is used for Loyalty-Integrated Gift Cards. If the checkbox is selected, when a gift card matching this definition is swiped, POS will attempt to retrieve the associated member's loyalty details, and load them against the transaction. |
Extended Card Range
This tab is only visible if Definition Has Extended Card Range is selected on the main Card Definition tab. If the option is selected, at least one extended card range must be configured in the table on this tab.

Additional Digits |

The digits that identify the brand of this card type. For example: The Range Start 428418 identifies Visa cards issued by ABC Bank. The two additional digits 428418-01 identify a specific brand of Visa card issued by ABC Bank. |
