Firing held items from the Kitchen screen

Use the kitchen screen to mark items for immediate preparation.

1. In POS, open the Kitchen screen.
2. Select the item, and tap the Fire button.
   A 'fire' icon is displayed next to the item on the Kitchen screen, and new Prepare Slips are printed, indicating that preparation of the item is to begin.
3. Repeat step 2 for all held items you want to fire.

The system setting SendHeldItemsToPrepareArea determines whether fired items are displayed on the Kitchen screen and printed on Prepare Slips, with any extra text. Enable Held Items on the Settings panel to view held items on the Kitchen screen.
