To set up kitchen operations at your cinema, you'll need to set up service areas and decide how orders are delivered to service areas.
Service areas
Service areas represent different stations where food items are prepared or picked up. You can configure food items to be prepared in certain service areas.
Example
Name | Type | Description |
Hot station | Prepare area | Where hot/cooked food is prepared. |
Cold station | Prepare area | Where other food such as salads and desserts are prepared. |
Expeditor | Pickup area | Combines meals or parts of meals that were prepared at the Hot and Cold stations, readying them for collection by serving staff. |
Kitchen operation setups
When POS sells an item that needs to be prepared, the order can be delivered to your different service areas by a network printer, a workstation, or some combination of both.
The following setups are models of different ways you can set up your kitchen operations. When you understand how these setups work, you can adapt these models to your organisation's needs.
- Printers-only setup: Service areas use only network printers and staff work from prepare slips and pickup slips. For more information, see Kitchen operations setup: Printers only
- Screens-only setup: Service areas use only workstation touch screens and staff work from the POS Kitchen Screen. For more information, see Kitchen operations setup: Screens only
- Combination setup: Prepare areas have only network printers, and the Expeditor has a network printer and a touch screen. For more information, see Kitchen operations setup: Combination setup
