Splitting an item across multiple split checks at POS

Patrons may wish to pay equal shares of an individual item (for example: when sharing a bottle of wine, or a bowl of french fries). In this situation, a POS operator can split an item across multiple checks.

1. Open the Split Checks screen from Tab Details > Split Check.
   If necessary, create additional checks for each patron who will pay for the item.
2. Tap to select one or more shared line items.
   For example: Grand Fries $4.10
3. Tap Split Item and enter the number of people who want to share payment of the item (or items).
   For example: 3.
   The line item is replaced by multiple fractional items:
   • 1/3 Grand Fries $1.37
   • 1/3 Grand Fries $1.36
   • 1/3 Grand Fries $1.37
4. Move the fractional items to other checks as required.
   A fractional item can be split again by the same procedure. For example, a line item 1/3 Grand Fries $1.36 can be split two ways to create the line items:
   • • 1/6 Grand Fries $0.68
     • 1/6 Grand Fries $0.68
