A living ticket is a paperless (electronic) ticket that is generated in the form of a web page. It replaces the need for a printed ticket.
About living tickets
The living ticket contains ticket details, an order summary, and a QR code or 1D barcode that can be scanned with InTouch. After an order is confirmed on POS, Kiosk, or your website, a link to the living ticket is sent to the moviegoer by email. The ticket captures the customer journey. It summarises current order details and tracks changes as orders are updated, based on the contact details provided.
The living ticket is hosted by Vista. We’ve created a basic template of the ticket, and we'll work with you to customise the ticket to represent your cinema's brand.
Note: Living tickets are cached by moviegoers' devices after they first access them. This ensures they can still use the ticket, even if any of our services become unavailable.
Customer journey
A journey represents, from start to finish, a patron's interactions with Vista software. This can be in relation to one or more visits to the cinema, initiated by a single ticket sale. A patron's journey can start at Mobile, Web, Kiosk, or POS, and can continue through any combination of these channels in preparation for or during a patron's visit.
Any subsequent concession purchases on the day of the session are included in the journey until the patron buys a ticket for a new session, or purchases a concession item on another day, at which point a new journey starts.
Note: A journey isn't necessarily restricted to a single visit; a patron can book tickets for multiple sessions in one transaction, which would all be considered to be within the same journey.
POS and other sales channels can leverage journey data to tailor offerings more closely to a patron's visit or improve the overall cinema experience.
For example: The receipt for all transactions made as part of one journey is included on a single living ticket. Any additional purchases are added to the same receipt on the living ticket until a new journey starts.
