Provide different concession discounts to approved groups of people.
Note: Five discount categories are available: Percentage Discount, Price Off, Fixed Price, Variable Percentage, and Variable Price Off. You can only configure one of these at once.
Option | Allowed Values | Description |
Discount Type Code |
1–4 characters |
A unique 4-character code to identify the Concession Discount Type. Once this has been saved it cannot be edited. |
Short Description |
1–8 characters |
A short name for the Concession Discount Type, displayed on POS if the full Description is too long. |
Description |
1–30 characters |
The full name of the Concession Discount Type, displayed on POS. |
Round To Nearest Value |
Any monetary value |
The value that the discounted price will be rounded to. This is useful when Percentage Discount is used. For example: Percentage discounts often calculate an awkward figure, such as a 12% discount off a $2 drink giving $1.52 as the price. If Round To Nearest Value is configured as 0.10 for the Concession Discount Type, the price will be rounded to the more convenient figure of $1.50. |
Only Available as Loyalty Recognition |
selected cleared |
If the checkbox is selected, Concession Discounts of this Type will only be available as Loyalty Recognitions. |
Item Discount Code |
1–4 characters |
A 4-character code to identify the Concession Discount Type. This will be shown in the Discount Code dropbox in Bulk Items. Note: An Item Discount Code is not unique to one concession item or to one concession discount type. A good way to configure this is to have the item discount code reflect the Item Class. For example: A concession discount type called STAFF may have an item discount code POPC with a Percentage Discount of 20%, which may then be applied to small, medium and large popcorn. This allows those concession items to receive the discount when this concession discount type is used. |
Report Code |
1–8 characters |
This is displayed on the Discount and the Cashier Reconciliation Reports. Note: This is the field displayed on reports, not the Description or the Short Description of the Concession Discount Type. A good way to configure this is to have the report code reflect the concession discount type, rather than the item. For example: A concession discount type called STAFF may have discounts configured for drinks and popcorn both with the report code STAFFD. This will ensure that the reports display which discount types were used for sales of each concession item. |

If this checkbox is selected, the POS Operator will be prompted to enter a percentage discount. This must be cleared if another discount category is already configured. |
Variable Price Off (Yes/No) |
selected cleared |
If this checkbox is selected, the POS Operator will be prompted to enter a price off discount. This must be cleared if another discount category is already configured. |
Status |
Active Inactive To Be Deleted |
An Active discount is currently in use. An Inactive discount is not currently in use. This may be because it is still under construction, or because it only applies during a specific time period (e.g. school holidays). A discount that is saved as To be Deleted will be removed and can no longer be used. |
