Depending on how you wish to configure paid Loyalty membership packages, a number of concession items may be required in order to sell activation and renewals of membership subscriptions at POS. Item packages, Parent Sales items and Options can be used to create the required structure of items.
Note: Activation items must have the Redeemable type of Loyalty Card, set on the Barcodes & Vouchers tab. it is strongly recommended that Renewal items be restricted to Loyalty Only on the Restrictions tab.
There are a number of possible configurations:
- Each club with a paid membership program requires a separate item for activation and renewal. If you have more than one paid membership club, such as genre-based clubs like the Comedy Club and the Horror Club, separate activation/renewal items will be required for each.
- If a club offers linked Loyalty memberships, item packages containing either two activation items or two renewal items can be configured to enable activation and renewal of these memberships. The item package can offer the activation or renewal items at a lower price, as an incentive to use a linked membership.
- If a club offers different levels of subscription such as Standard and Gold, the top-layer activation and renewal items can be configured as Parent Sales item types, and separate items representing activation and renewal for each level can be assigned as Options. Different lengths of subscription can also be configured this way.
- If a club offers both different levels and different lengths of subscription, the Options representing activation and renewal for each level can also be configured as Parent Sales item types, and separate items representing activation and renewal for each subscription length can be assigned as Options for each level
Note: Two layers of Parent Sales/Options is the maximum.
Implementation Examples
Each cell in the tables below represents a unique concession item that must be created. The heading of each column indicates whether the Item Type could be set to Normal or Parent Sales. Only the Normal items, i.e. those in the lowest layer, will be configured with a Retail Price, as these are the units that will be specifically sold to a customer.
Example 1: Customers are simply activated into the club or renewed
There is only one level, and the length of subscription is defined in Vista Loyalty either by the membership program or the club.
