A Marathon is a group of two or more Sessions that are linked together so that a patron can buy a single ticket, allowing attendance to more than one session, playing in the same Screen.
For example: To celebrate the release of The Hobbit 3, a cinema wishes to play all three films in the trilogy back-to-back.
Selling a ticket to a Marathon is the same as selling any other ticket. The only difference is that, on the Tickets screen at POS, the Marathon is represented by a Marathon Film. The Marathon film is defined in Back Office in Showtime Manager or Film maintenance.
Depending on how the Marathon was configured, a single ticket may be printed for the Marathon. Alternatively, individual tickets may be printed for each of the component sessions. If an individual ticket is printed, the Marathon Film will be the name of the film on the ticket.
Note: The individual films that make up the Marathon can be viewed by tapping on the Marathon Film on the Tickets screen at POS.
