In a food service environment, it can be necessary to apply Comps to items or orders in order to provide a discount for a particular reason.
Example:
- Food / service issues
- Kitchen / server error
- Staff discount
- Promotions
Comps are normally used in conjunction with Tab orders that are paid off later, but they can also be used for standard POS orders with immediate payment.
Comps can be applied to specific items in an order, or an order as a whole. Some comps may only be valid for certain items.
Staff and customers can clearly see what comps have been applied to on POS and on receipts.
