A screen represents a physical space where films are shown, for example, a theatre or auditorium. You can create a screen so that you can schedule sessions in that space.
Note: We recommend that you create screens in Head Office instead of Cinema Manager, because it's easier to import screens created in Head Office to Cinema Manager.
Before you begin
- Create the cinema that the screen belongs to, or ensure a cinema exists that you can include the screen in.
- Ensure that you have at least one Projection Group.
- Ensure you belong to a User Group that has permission to create objects in the screen module.
Steps
You must create a screen for each area that you want to show films in.
- Go to Head Office > Maintenance > Screens.
- In the filter dialog, select a site and click OK to view the selected site, or click OK to view all sites.
- Select Create.
- In the Screen tab, enter the following details about your screen:
- Screen Number
- Cinema
- Name
- Description
- Projection Group
- (Optional) Add Attributes to the screen to use the Suggest Price Card functionality at Cinema.
- Select Allow Download to download the screen and any linked seating layouts to Cinema Manager.
- Click New Layout to create a seating layout for the screen.
Tip! If the new screen has the same (or similar) layout as an existing screen, click Copy Layouts to save time. This will create a copy of an existing screen's layout in the new screen. The copied layout is independent of the original; you can edit either layout without affecting the other.
- Click the Scheduling tab and enter start times for this screen.
Note: These scheduling options affect how films are automatically scheduled using Showtime Manager's Auto-Fill function. They do not restrict manually scheduled films.
- On the Service Area tab, assign the Service Areas for the screen.
Note: Service Area determine areas where food items are prepared and/or picked up.
- Save.
