In Film Manager, film bookings are made one week and slot at a time, and can be copied to make a film run for multiple weeks.
Creating a booking
To make a booking, drag and drop a film from the Film Palette onto a slot for the week you want to book.
For films under the Releases, Advanced, and Other tabs, click the film to add it to the selected week.
Create splits, combos, and interlocks
Drag films from the Film Palette into cells with existing bookings to create splits, combos, and interlocks.
Moving and copying bookings
You can organise and extend a site's bookings by moving and copying bookings across the planning grid.
To make a booking run for multiple weeks in a single slot, hover over the booking, click the copy icon, and select the number of weeks into the future that you want to copy the booking.
To copy or move bookings between slots and weeks, multi-select bookings by pressing Ctrl or Shift, then drag and drop to move them, or use Ctrl C and Ctrl V to copy and paste them.
Copying bookings to other sites
You may need to make the same bookings for multiple sites, such as for a major blockbuster film. After creating bookings for one site, you can copy that site's bookings to multiple other sites.
To copy a site's bookings to other sites, click the Bulk Copy button on the grid navigation to run the Bulk Copy wizard.
Assigning bookings to Available, Advance screenings, or Other Content rows
Sometimes you'll need to make bookings that don't belong in a slot, or otherwise aren't ready to be placed in a slot. You can place these bookings in the Available, Advance screenings, or Other Content sections at the bottom of the planning grid.
- Available: Bookings that have not been dropped or assigned to other slots can be added to the Available section.
- Advance screenings: To create advance screenings, place bookings (other than Other content bookings) within the Advance Screening row. You can also move a booking to the Advance Screening row by setting the print number of a playing or available booking to an advance-screening print number (set using the system setting HoldoverConfirmationRptExcludePrints). If you set the print number of an advance screening to a value not used in the system setting, the booking will move to the Available section. The Advance tab on the Film Palette contains films that have their advance-screening days fall under the selected week. You must use the Holdover to link advance-screening bookings to playing bookings.
- Other Content: You can create bookings for other content in this row. Films for this section can be found under the Other tab in the Film Palette, based on their release date or title. You must use the Holdover to link Other Content bookings to playing bookings.
Changing booking properties
To change a booking's film or session properties, or to add comments for other film programmers to read, select a booking and open the Booking Properties tab, or use the Quick Access Toolbar at the bottom of the screen. If you select multiple bookings, you can edit the properties of all the bookings you’ve selected.
