Voucher Type records are where you define the characteristics of each voucher and gift card you offer. You can organise individual voucher types into voucher categories.
Example: A Gift Vouchers voucher category might include the Adult Gift Voucher and Child Gift Voucher voucher types.
The Voucher Type record has several tabs:
- Voucher Type: Here you define the basic characteristics of the voucher, such as its name, whether it is redeemed as a ticket or used as payment, and its serial number, barcode, and expiry details.
-
Gift Card: The settings on this tab are available only if the Redeemable Type is set to Gift Card. These settings determine gift card policies, including minimum and maximum values for activation, redemption, and reloading.
Note: You can integrate gift cards with Loyalty, so that a single card holds both a gift card balance and membership details.
- Multiuse Voucher: The settings on this tab are available only if the Redeemable Type is set to Multiuse Voucher. These settings determine how many times and in which ways a voucher can be used.
- Booklet of Varying Types: The settings on this tab are available only if the Redeemable Type is set to Booklet of Varying Types. These settings determine how many of which voucher types are included in the book, as well as relevant effective dates and prices.
- Limitations: Use this tab to restrict the sale and redemption of the vouchers by barcode, location and time.
- Artwork: Here you can associate graphics with the voucher type.
Note: After you receive stock against the a Voucher Type record, some fields can no longer be edited. For example, you can't change the redeemable type, barcode, or expiry information. If you have physical cards, or if you've sold physical or virtual vouchers, changing this kind of information would make it difficult for customers to redeem their vouchers. You can change details like the voucher name, limitations, or artwork at any time.
