The Promo-Payment Engine

The Promo-Payment Engine is designed to reduce your tax and film hire payments. After you activate and set it up, any payment methods you offer at a discount will have their tax and film hire reduced proportionally.

The Promo-Payment Engine works on POS, and any other sales channel that uses Sales Server. All relevant reductions are sent to a general ledger account of your choice — that makes it possible to only reduce film hire, if your territory doesn't allow you to reduce tax.

Example

A $50 gift card could be sold for $40, or a $100 payment voucher could be sold for $80. By default, when a customer redeems these payment types, any film hire and tax will reflect the redemption value. By using the Promo-Payment Engine, however, it's possible to make that film hire and tax proportionate to the payment type's sale value. For many circuits, that means a dramatic cost saving.
