Exporting a custom dashboard as a data source

Make data in a custom dashboard available as a datasouce so that you can use it in other dashboards, when analysing reports, or as a custom API.

Note: All users can view data sources but only Designers and Administrators can create, edit, or export them. 

Before you begin

• Make sure that you have been assigned access as a Designer or Administrator in Horizon.
• Make sure that you have:
  • Created a custom dashboard in Horizon

Steps

1. In Vista Cloud, go to Horizon > Operations.
2. Create or open a dashboard. 
3. Click Edit.
4. In the dashboard menu, click Export data source.
5. (Recommended) Rename your data source.
6. Click Export.

Your data source is now available to view at Horizon > Data sources.

Note: This is also Step 2 of creating a custom API. Next export this data source as a custom API
