Progressive updates
These products are continuously updated with both feature and quality updates as they become available.
Bundled updates
To ensure the stability of complex configurations in your environment, several products are packaged, tested, and released together. There are two types of bundles: feature and quality.
Feature bundles
Feature bundles are released twice a year, an H1 and H2 release.
When a feature update is scheduled for your sandbox environment, your Vista representative will notify you directly, providing as much advance notice as practical. We support a maximum 6-week cycle of testing in the sandbox before your live environment will be upgraded.
Quality bundles
Quality bundles are packaged every 2 weeks but only applied to your tenants when the update provides a clear benefit, such as a security patch or a fix for an issue you're experiencing.
These updates are installed in both customer sandbox and production environments as soon as they become available.
Quality bundle updates are mandatory and you can't opt out of them, as they are necessary to ensure the security and performance of the platform. We will commonly apply 2-3 quality updates to your tenant between feature bundle updates.
Vista Classic (on-premises)
For our Vista Classic (on-premises) clients we aim for a cadence of two releases per year, timed to avoid the busy summer blockbusters and end of year holiday season film releases.
- H1 release, towards the end of Q1
- H2 release, towards the end of Q3
As we get closer to a release, we will be able to share more specifics. Our 5.16 on-prem release is currently on track to be available Feb/March 2025.
