You can configure Vista Cloud to support upselling of concessions at POS.
Upselling is a common practice of providing POS operators with simple methods to upgrade item orders, to help them encourage customers to spend more.
This is particularly useful for concession items such as post-mix drink and popcorn, which come in an ascending range of sizes.
You can set up a number of upsell methods:
Method | Summary | Sequence of events at POS | Supported items |
Upselling an item automatically during ordering |
An an item is ordered, POS notifies the operator that the item can be upsold by means of an upsell arrow in the order window. The transaction history shows the sale of the improved item. |
|
Note: This method also works for individual items within an item package. The individual items may be upsold from the order window. |
Upselling combinations of items automatically (suggested upsell) |
After an order has been taken, POS notifies the operator that one or more ordered items can be upsold to a combo or item package. The individual items are replaced by the combo or package in the order window. The transaction history shows the combo, or the constituent items of the package. |
|
|
Upselling an item manually during ordering |
The operator must remember to offer the upsell and add the upgrade item to the order. The transaction history shows the sale of the basic item and the "upgrade" item. Stock movement occurs as if the improved item had been sold. |
