Before your POS operators log on to POS, you need to create sales sessions for them.
Note: The day must be open before you can create sales sessions.
- Click Create sales sessions from the Sales sessions or Fund status page.
- Select the source fund for the sales sessions.
Depending on your business process, you may create floats as individual funds, or create a single fund from which you assemble multiple floats.
- Select the workstation group and POS operators for the sales sessions.
- Enter the amount for each payment group to appear in the operators' opening floats.
Tip! You can set a default float amount for the workstation group using the settings in Maintenance > Workstation Groups.
Tip! You can create floats for multiple sales sessions at the same time, as long as your operators belong to the same workstation group and have the same opening float amounts.
- Click Assign.
The opening floats appear in the Awaiting login section of the Sales sessions page. It also appears in the In transit section of the Fund status page. After each operator logs on, their float will move to the Active section.
If you've made a mistake, or a POS operator doesn't turn up for their shift, you can return the float to the fund from the In transit section by clicking Return float from the drop-down menu.
