On the Reports page, you can find, run, and schedule all reports available in Cinema Manager. The page includes a tab for each report class to help you find the type of report you're interested in.
Tip! To get the most out of your reporting, don't be afraid to explore. Vista has many reports, so if there's a particular metric you're interested in, it's likely to be found in at least one of them.
Filters
Experiment with filters to narrow your reports to the information you're really interested in.
Date and time ranges
You can run most Vista reports for any time range that you’d like. While there are some exceptions (usually that a report runs for one or more business days) it can be useful to be able to run a report for long periods, a day, or even for a part of a day.
Some examples of this include the following:
- Run the Performance Report for the day so far (that is, from 6:00 am to the current time) rather than for the whole business day. This compares the concession sales up to the current time with the admits up to the current time, rather than for the full business day.
- Run the Daily Box Office Report for a three-month period to get the top films for your site for that period.
- Run the Cashier Shift Detail Report for a week to see which staff members have been the most active at POS.
None of these reports were specifically designed to be run for these date/time periods, but these periods can provide useful results.
Important! Running reports for exceptionally long periods can cause significant load on the database. Since POS accesses the same database to make sales, this load can affect POS performance.
Favourite reports
Click the star next to a report to have it appear in your Favourites tab. Your favourites are only visible to you, but report groups and classes are visible to all users.
Running a report
Run a report by clicking the Run icon. You'll need to enter any relevant parameters for the report to narrow down the information it displays.
Tip! Setting a small date range and limiting results to your own cinema can drastically improve the readability of a report, and save on paper.
When you run a report, it will appear under your recent activity on the Reporting Overview page with details of when it was last run. Hover over the report name here to see its date range, or click the Download icon to download a copy of the report with the same parameters.
Note: Report classes are set in Maintenance > Report Classes and will usually be the same across your whole circuit. Report groups are configurable within Cinema Manager for each site.
Incorrect results
Vista has a lot of reports, with similar-sounding labels. Carefully read the report's labels to be sure you understand the calculations they represent.
If you genuinely think a figure is incorrect, contact your IT department or your Vista support representative. They can investigate whether there's a problem with the data configuration or the software itself.
