If your organisation performs stocktakes as part of the end-of-day process (controlled by the system setting StocktakeMode), Cinema Manager automatically finalises each stocktake and creates a new one when it closes the day. The stocktake is created with all the usual default parameters you've set, such as stock locations, groups, and item classes.
Note: You cannot create a new stocktake if one already exists with the same parameters.
This means that you cannot create or finalise stocktakes on the Stocktake page, but you still need to enter stock counts for in-progress stocktakes.
Tip: You can delete your existing stocktake and create a new one as long as the day is still active. After the day is closed, you can no longer edit the day’s stocktake
- Open the stocktake that was created automatically by the previous day's Close Day process.
Note: You will need to manually create a stocktake if:
- You’ve needed to manually open the business day for any reason.
- You have AutoOpenNextBusinessDay set to No, so Cinema Manager doesn’t create a new stocktake as part of the Close Day process.
- Complete any sales, stock receipts, stock adjustments, or made items for the day. This ensures that the stock count and stocktake processing are correct.
- Enter your stock counts.
- Check stock variances.
- Close the day to finalise the stocktake.
The Close Day process will automatically create a new stocktake for the next business day.
Note: The name of the new stocktake will be the time and date the Close Day process is run, not the date of the next business day. When the stocktake is finalised, the record is saved with the correct date.
