POS operators confirm floats when they log in to workstations. Depending on the workstation's setup, operators will have to confirm the float when they log in, or, just if they're the first operator to log in for the day.
Note: Once a POS operator has confirmed a Float, that POS Session cannot be deleted.
Steps
- Sign in to POS.
- On the Opening Float screen, the operator must confirm their float amount.
If a float was created in Vista Cloud, the operator must confirm that the expected amount on screen matches what they have been given. If the amounts do not match, the operator should return to the cash room to resolve the problem before signing in.
If no pre-defined float was created, and the workstation the user is logging on to is in a workstation group with Allow initiation of POS session at terminal if no Back Office Float has been created selected, the user can only enter their own float amount when CashDesk is not being used and the system setting CashManagementMethod is not set to FUNDMGMT.
- Deposit the float into the cash drawer and close it.
- Confirm the float.
