A sales tax is a formula associated with a ticket type or concession item that defines the amount of tax payable when the ticket or item is sold. It can be a percentage of the item or ticket's retail price, or as a flat fee per item.
You can set up sales taxes using the Sales Taxes maintenance page. Do this in Cinema Manager to set up sales taxes at each cinema, or set them up using Head Office, to be used by different cinemas in your circuit.
Each sales tax may be linked to a general ledger account code.
In jurisdictions where taxes are payable to several levels of government, a sales tax can consist of up to four levels of tax, each associated with a different formula and account code.
