The following fields make up the Booking Fee form, in Head Office or Cinema Manager, accessed via Maintenance > Booking Fees. Use this form to set up and maintain general details about a booking fee.
Option | Allowed Values | Description |
Default Booking Fee |
Any monetary value |
The default amount charged per ticket purchased. This cannot be used if a Percentage is already configured. |
or Percentage |
1–100% |
The percentage of the total transaction cost charged as the booking fee. This cannot be used if a fixed amount (Default Booking Fee) is already configured. |
Default Minimum Fee |
Any monetary value |
The minimum amount that will be charged as the booking fee for a transaction. For example: If the Default Booking Fee is $0.60 per ticket and the Default Minimum Fee is $1.00 per transaction, buying 1 ticket will incur a booking fee of $1.00, because $0.60 is less than the minimum. |
Default Maximum Fee |
Any monetary value |
The maximum amount that will be charged as the booking fee for a transaction. For example: If the Default Booking Fee is $1.00 per ticket and the Default Maximum Fee is $2.00 per transaction, buying 1 ticket will incur a booking fee of $1.00 and 2 tickets $2.00, but if 3 or more tickets are bought, the booking fee will remain $2.00 If the Default Booking Fee, Default Minimum Fee and Default Maximum Fee are all set to the same value, i.e. $5.00, it will incur a flat fee per transaction, regardless of how many tickets are purchased. |
Default Concession Item |
Any concession item configured as a booking fee item |
The concession item that represents the booking fee. Multiple booking fees may be represented by a single concession item. In Bulk Items, Box Office Sundry Item and Booking Fee Item must be selected on the Box Office tab. |
Details tab
When a new booking fee is created and saved, the first table on the Details tab will be populated by the default settings from the Booking Fee tab. After the booking fee has been saved, the numbers in the first table can be independently edited for particular sales channels and will no longer be updated by the default setting on the Booking Fee tab.
Note: The first grid in the Details tab defines the default fees for all ticket types in each sales channel. The second grid creates exceptions or overrides for specific ticket types within a particular sales channel. For example, consider a call centre with a minimum fee of $1.00, a maximum fee of $5.00, and a standard fee of $0.60.
- Purchasing 1 ticket will incur a fee of $1.00. The minimum fee applies because the minimum is greater than the standard $0.60 fee.
- Purchasing 2 tickets will incur a fee of $1.20. The standard fee applies because the total of two standard fees is greater than the $1.00 minimum and less than the $5.00 maximum.
- Purchasing 20 tickets will incur a fee of $5.00. The maximum fee applies because the total of 20 standard fees is greater than the $5.00 maximum.
