The Censor Rating maintenance form in Cinema Manager and Head Office lets you create and manage censor ratings.

Censor ratings classify films according to their suitability for audiences in regards to mature content such as profanity, drug use, or violence. Assign censor ratings to films on the Films maintenance form so that censor rating information is available to each cinema that is screening the film.

Note: When you inactivate a censor rating (Options > Inactive), films that already had the censor rating continue to have it, but you can't make any new assignments with the inactive rating. You can make an inactive censor rating active again at any time.

Censorship

Option	Allowed Values	Description
Censor Rating	1–4 characters	The name of the Censor Rating. Example: PG13
Description	1–50 characters	A description of the Censor Rating. Example: Parental guidance under 13 years.
Rentrak Code	1–30 characters	The Rentrak code of the Censor Rating. This allows the Censor Rating to be automatically linked to films based on Rentrak information.
Severity	Any number, 0–100	A number used by Film Programming to determine the appropriateness of trailers. Example: 1 is low (G) and 99 is high (R18).
Exempt	Cleared Selected	Selecting this option causes films configured with the Censor Rating to ignore the Severity level in Film Programming.
Valid for Child Ticket	Cleared Selected	If the checkbox is selected, child tickets will be able to be sold to films with the Censor Rating. If the checkbox is cleared, child tickets will not be valid. Example: If child tickets are available for patrons up to 15 years old, the PG13 Censor Rating will be valid for child tickets (selected), but the R16 rating will not (cleared). Important! This applies to POS only; the checkbox has no effect on other sales channels.
Age Restricted	Cleared Selected	Selecting this option enables a Minimum Age and Required Action to be placed on Censor Ratings.
Minimum Age	0-99	The minimum age requirement for purchasing a ticket with the specified Censor Rating. Note: 0 = no minimum age required.
Required Action	Manager approval on sale. Operator must enter birthdate.	Provides security for sales of tickets to age-restricted films. Manager approval on sale Manager approval is required when selling tickets for age restricted films at POS. Operator must enter birthdate The birthdate of the patron is required to be entered at POS before the sale of tickets to age-restricted films can continue. Note: The level of security required for ticket sales to age restricted films is determined by the System Setting POS-SECURITY: SecuritySellAgeRestrictedFilm.

Media

Option	Allowed Values	Description
Media Set Links	Rating Graphic	The context in which the corresponding Media Set is used. Rating Graphic: Censor Rating media. Small format images include only the rating icon, while large format images can also include the text description.
Media Set	Any configured Media Set	The Media Library media set used in the selected context.
		When no Media Set is selected, click to open the Media Library application and create a new media set.
		When a Media Set is selected, click to drill down and open the media set to edit.
		Click to open the Media Library lookup.
Drag one or more media files		Media files can be dragged directly from Windows Explorer onto the film record. Save the film record to automatically create a new media set.
