Cinema Manager's Concessions > Insights page shows you information about your concession sales, and related key performance indicators (KPIs), for the business week.
All figures shown on the Insights page are gross, not net, unless explicitly stated otherwise.
KPI Bar
This gadget shows the following KPIs:
Option | Description |
Total concession spend | The total gross concessions revenue for today. |
Spend per admit |
The total concessions revenue divided by the total number of admits today. If you have lots of paid bookings for the day, your spend per admit may start out very low as those admits have not yet had a chance to buy concessions at the cinema. Set a target spend per admit using the Cinema Manager system setting DashboardTargetSPA. |
Current spend per admit |
The current spend per admit. In contrast to the overall spend per admit, this figure only calculates the average concession spend of admits who have already arrived at the cinema (that is, not future bookings). At the start of the day this should be a more accurate indicator of your SPA, and by the end of the day should match the regular SPA. |
Transaction strike rate | The percentage of today's transactions that involved a concessions purchase. If you have lots of paid bookings, you may experience lots of concession-only transactions when they are collected. |
Avg concession spend vs transaction strike rate
This graph charts two figures; average concession spend and transaction strike rate.
Option | Description |
Average concession spend | The total concessions revenue divided by the number of concessions transactions today. |
Transaction strike rate |
The percentage of today's transactions that involved a concessions purchase. If you have lots of paid bookings, you may experience lots of concession-only transactions when they are collected. |
Over a week, you can expect your transaction strike rate to go down during busy periods, when waiting times are longer. A high transaction strike rate with a low average concession spend could mean that your POS operators aren't upselling enough during transactions.
Total concession spend
This gadget shows the total value of concession items purchased for each of the last seven days.
Use this gadget to see how your sales are trending over the course of the week. There should generally be a positive correlation between your number of admits and your total concession spend, even though the spend per admit will drop. If this correlation is skewed, you might investigate causes such as staffing and item pricing.
Top 5 concessions by value
This gadget shows your five highest earning concession items for the current day or week to date. Hover over any item to see the quantity sold and total gross profit margin for that item.
Voucher sales
This gadget shows the gross revenue from your voucher and gift card sales, across all sales channels, over the last seven days.
If your voucher sales are much lower than expected, you might consider promoting them through special deals or advertising.
Focus item sales
This gadget displays the sales of any particular item you want to focus on (for example: a promotional combo, or paid Loyalty memberships).
To track the sales of an item, select a focus item using the Focus item setting, located under
in the Cinema Manager settings.
