A Recipe is an Item made up of several component items and their quantities. Recipes are used when managers are interested in tracking the portion of each component making up the recipe item.
For example: 72 ice creams can be created from a 20L tub of vanilla gelato, 800g chocolate, 72 cones, 72 food-grade bags. The Recipe Ice Cream would consist of the components Vanilla Gelato, Chocolate, Cones, and Food Bags.
You can create the following types of recipes:
- Made at sale time (Recipe). For example: Coke float.
- Made in advance (Recipe). For example: Hand-rolled ice creams.
A recipe's cost price is the sum of the cost prices of the component items in the recipe, based on the quantity required.
