Service areas represent areas where food items can be prepared or picked up. For example, you may have an area called Hot station for preparation and an area called Expeditor for pickup.
Service areas are required when you're using the kitchen functions in POS.
Service areas must at least have a Network Printer configured, using Kitchen Service Printers for Prepare/Pickup (Cinema Manager > Maintenance). When POS sells an item that requires preparing, a Prepare Slip is printed in the appropriate service area, prompting the kitchen staff to begin making the item.
Service areas can also be configured with full Workstations, in which case the Kitchen Screen displays items that have been sent for preparation.
Configured prepare/pickup areas are listed in Service Areas from Cinema Manager > Maintenance.
