Marathons contain two or more component films and are configured as a type of film record in Head Office.
- In Head Office, go to Maintenance > Films (webpage).
-
Create a new film record.
Example: Hobbit Trilogy Marathon
- Under Film type choose Marathon.
- Choose whether or not to Print ticket per film.
Note: The system setting TicketNumberingForMarathons determines whether tickets are all assigned the same—or unique—ticket numbers.
- Select the films to include in the marathon.
- If the film has more than one movie format, select the most appropriate one.
- (Optional) Set a Break time between films. The default break time is 0.
- Set the ratio of the Box office split (relative).
Note: The Box office split (%) is automatically calculated and determines how box office revenue from the marathon's single ticket price is divided between sessions in the marathon. During planning and scheduling, the box office split can be adjusted again for each marathon film booking and marathon session. Ratios configured during planning and scheduling do not affect the values set in the marathon’s film record. The system setting MarathonSplitAllowZeroPercent determines whether a 0% split is permitted.
- Complete all other required fields on the form.
- Click Save.
When the marathon is planned the component films are automatically scheduled with the specified break time between them.
