A Marathon is a group of two or more Sessions that are linked together so that a patron can buy a single ticket, allowing attendance to more than one session, playing in the same Screen.
Example: To celebrate the release of The Hobbit 3, a cinema wishes to play all three films in the trilogy back-to-back.
- Set up marathons by creating a specific Marathon Film record that automatically creates the component marathon sessions when scheduled.
- You can create marathons in Film Manager and download them to cinemas. Film Manager marathons cannot be edited at the cinema.
- You can edit or unlink marathons in Head Office Manager > Maintenance > Sessions. Create new sessions in Film Manager or Showtime Manager.
- Marathon appear as a single session on POS, and the Alternate Tickets screen lists the included sessions.
Note: Session swap is not available for sessions that are part of a Marathon. A Marathon cannot be created or edited after the start time of the first session.
