A Marathon is a group of two or more Sessions that are linked together so that a patron can buy a single ticket, allowing attendance to more than one session, playing in the same Screen.
For example: To celebrate the release of The Hobbit 3, a cinema wishes to play all three films in the trilogy back-to-back.
Marathons can be set up by creating a specific Marathon Film record that automatically creates the component marathon sessions when scheduled.
Marathons can be created in Film Programming and downloaded to cinemas. Film programming marathons cannot be edited at the cinema.
The marathon appears as a single session on POS, and the Alternate Tickets screen will display a list of the sessions included.
Note: Session swap is not available for sessions that are part of a Marathon. A Marathon cannot be created or edited after the start time of the first session.
