To sell a weight-based item (such as weighed sweets) in sales channels using Connect or Digital Platform, e.g. a kiosk, you'll need the following configuration.
Before you begin
You'll need at least the following versions of these products:
- Lumos Kiosk 6.10.0
- Connect 6.5.0
- Sales Server 5.0.14
Steps
- In Service Framework Manager, use these settings:
- Enable Lumos Kiosk > General > Business rules > Enable self-scanning for concessions
- Configure the barcode scanner in Lumos Kiosk > Barcode Scanner > General
- (Optional) Enable Lumos Kiosk > General > Business rules > Priority concession checkout method for F&B-only order flow
- (Optional) Enable Lumos Kiosk > General > Business rules > Priority concession checkout method for ticketing flow
- Set up the weight-based item in Head Office or Cinema Manager
- In Connect or Digital Platform, add IncludeWeightBasedInformation to the visWebLoader.ini DataToLoad pipe-delimited string.
For Vista staff: To verify this has been done properly, query the tblProcessDefinition row with Process_strCode = 'Web_Loader_Task' and check that Process_strParamList includes INCLUDEWEIGHTBASEDINFORMATION. If it doesn't, you may need to update your VDP tenant addon repository to include DataToLoad and redeploy Connect using that package.
- In Connect, add weight-based items into the web concession profile, ensuring that the top-level recipe item has either Allow in-seat or Available for pick up at Counter checked.
Important: The item you add to the concession profile must be the recipe for the item, containing the weight-based item and its packaging. You can't sell the item (e.g. Bulk sweets) or the packaging components alone.
For Vista staff: To confirm that the weight-based item is configured correctly and known to Connect, query the tblConcessionItemWeightBasedData table in the Connect database and check if there is data present.
