This example outlines the setup required for using ticket types, price card groups, and ticket price adjustments in a scenario with the following pricing:
- Standard 2D tickets: Adult, $15.00; Student, $12.00; Child, $10.00; Senior Citizen, $10.00
- 3D tickets: Adult, $17.00; Student, $14.00; Child, $12.00; Senior Citizen, $12.00
Before you begin
- Migrate to a Price Card Group system.
- Have a generic set of ticket types such as Adult, Student, Child, and Senior Citizen.
Steps
- In Cinema Manager or Head Office, go to Maintenance > Ticket Price Adjustments to create the required adjustment.
For example: Description, 3D; Default Value, $2.00 - Go to Maintenance > Price Cards to expand the base price card of the price card group you want to edit.
- Set the standard pricing (for 2D sessions) in the tickets table.
For example: Adult, $15.00; Student, $12.00; Child, $10.00; Senior Citizen, $10.00 - Select the Price Adjustments tab.
- In the Description cell, select the ticket price adjustment created in step 1.
The default value can be overridden here if necessary.Note: It is possible to configure any number of ticket price adjustments.
- There are three ways to assign the ticket price adjustment to tickets in the derived price card used for 3D sessions:
- Select the heading of the price card, select the Description of the adjustment configured in step 5, and click Apply to the selected price card.
The adjustment will be added to all tickets in the price card. - Click the Adjustment cell in the heading row of the derived price card and select the 3D adjustment configured in step 5.
The adjustment will be added to all tickets in the price card. - Click the Adjustment cell for the ticket(s) you wish to apply the adjustment to, and select the 3D adjustment configured in step 5.
The adjustment will be added to the individual ticket(s) selected in the price card.
- Select the heading of the price card, select the Description of the adjustment configured in step 5, and click Apply to the selected price card.
- The Total column will automatically update to display the base price plus the value of the adjustment for any tickets with the adjustment applied.
For example: Adult, $17.00; Student, $14.00; Child, $12.00; Senior Citizen, $12.00 - Save the price card group.
When creating sessions, use the base price card for 2D sessions, and the derived price card for 3D sessions.
Note: If you don't want a price adjustment to apply to all of the ticket types included in the price card, you can exclude individual ticket types from ticket price adjustments in any of the following ways:
- On the derived price card, open the dropdown in the Adjustment column and clear the check box for the ticket price adjustment that you don't want to apply. The adjustment you cleared no longer applies to the ticket type you edited in the price card.
- On the derived price card, select Exempt from Adjustments in the Adjustment column. No adjustments are applied to the ticket type you edited in the price card.
- On the base price card, select Exempt from Adjustments in the Adjustment column. No adjustments are applied to the ticket type you edited in the base price card or in any derived price card.
- On the Ticket Type maintenance form, select Exempt from Adjustments on the Ticket Type tab. No adjustments are applied to the ticket type in any price card.
