Operational Excellence new features & improvements
Cinema Manager and POS
- When upgrading Cinema, forced parameterisation for the Cinema database is no longer turned on, allowing more control over rollout and management of risk.
Operational Excellence fixes
Cinema Manager and POS
- The item summary panel on the kitchen display screen no longer overlaps with order tiles.
- We've fixed an issue which could re-use a barcode generated by an earlier order for a ticket package containing a voucher with a generated barcode.
- When a stocktake is finalising in Cinema Manager, users now can't re-enter the stocktake through the stocktake summary page or directly through a URL, preventing potential corruption of stock values.
- POS logs now include logs from different sources such as connectors as individual log files, instead of being written only to the VistaPOS.log file.
- The Ticket Pricing Service no longer produces more logs than necessary at the Info log level.
- We've fixed an issue in POS where items within ticket packages that are in an unpaid booking weren't sending the correct FULLPRICE value to fiscal drivers when the booking was reloaded and collected at POS.
- In Showtime Manager, we've fixed an issue where the session property Interval Mins From would unexpectedly increase in value, preventing showtime schedules from being saved until values were manually fixed.
- The Print Template Test Utility is now able to print templates.
- In Cinema Manager's Staff tab, we've fixed an issue where the Users page threw an error if the user lacked permissions for their own user group. This means logged in users can see their own user details as expected.
- We've fixed an issue which prevented the cash drawer attached to a workstation from opening when refunding a concession using cash as the refund mode.
- When the system setting ReceiptFiscal_InclTicket is set to No, excl BO Sundries, box-office sundries will now be excluded from fiscal refund receipts.
- We've created a new scheduled task, Kitchen Redirect Calculator. This recalculates prepare area redirects for orders which are still pending preparation, and have not yet had their prepare slips printed. This allows changes in redirects which have occurred since the order was made to apply to kitchen orders set to be delivered in the future.
This scheduled task is disabled by default and must be enabled in Task Scheduler to run. By default it will run once per hour when enabled.
- In Cinema Manager, when in CashUp mode (the CashManagementMethod system setting is "CASHUP"), newly created Sales Sessions will now be assigned to the correct Workstation Group that was entered in the form, instead of always using the default Workstation Group.
- The Stock Receipt and Goods Receipts Note reports now run successfully in Cinema Manager, even if there is stock with a quantity of zero.
- We've fixed an issue that prevented price cards from loading in Cinema Manager and Head Office.
- POS no longer fails to start if a machine experiences timeouts when doing DNS requests.
- The Cashup screen no longer ignores adjustments made to a payment group when it is flagged to "Include in deposits" and the CashdeskDepositFrom system setting is set to either POS sessions only or POS Sessions and Funds. The Cashup report also now shows the correct adjustment value.
- When the StocktakeMode system setting is set to DayEnd and AutoOpenNextBusinessDate setting is enabled, the automatically-created stocktake for the next business day will now respect the default date-time specified by the StockCountUsesDefaultDate setting.
- The kitchen screen now filters items by business date instead of the calendar date. This fixes an issue where uncollected orders would disappear from the screen after midnight if their delivery date was for the previous day and also wasn't within the time indicated by the FoodOrderDropOffTime system setting.
- In Cinema Manager Showtime Manager, the indicators at the bottom of the timeline view indicating how many sessions are exiting each 15 minutes now align correctly with the timeline.
- In earlier releases, under certain conditions, the CDN might attempt to load media files that were not yet available, which could lead to errors during processing. This issue has been resolved by filtering out unavailable media items, ensuring the CDN loads correctly and processes without errors.
- In Showtime Manager, a session scheduled to start in one planning week but ending in the next can now only be edited in the planning week it starts in. In the next week, it will appear as read-only. This also fixes an issue where if a session went over two planning weeks and Holdover only mode was enabled, users couldn't save the first week.
- The stocktake process now performs efficiently by optimising the handling of inventory and stock-inquiry data.
- When viewing users by 'User number' in Cinema Manager > Staff, non-admin users can no longer view or modify admin or manager accounts. They can only see their own profile and user groups they have permission to access and modify.
- We've fixed an issue which could cause bulk cashup to lock unnecessarily.
Digital Signage
- Data now loads correctly on the Sign Health pages of Signage Manager.
- We've fixed an issue where sessions for some screens weren't showing on Digital Signage when using Session Times templates.
- We've fixed an issue which could cause the SignStatusUploadTask to fail to run in Task Scheduler.
- We've fixed an issue where real-time session data wouldn't update on Digital Signage for any session with a showtime after midnight.
- In Digital Signage, we've fixed an issue where new items couldn't be added to a Menu Board in Signage Manager.
- We've fixed an issue where Digital Signage was repeatedly shutting down and restarting, meaning menu boards or showtimes weren't displaying.
Film Manager
- In Showtime Manager, we've fixed an issue where the session property Interval Mins From would unexpectedly increase in value, preventing showtime schedules from being saved until values were manually fixed.
- In Film Manager Showtime Manager, we've fixed an issue where Bulk Copy wouldn't carry over a session's price card and Price Card Locked property status. These are now copied to the new session if the price card exists at the destination site.
- We've fixed an issue which could cause an error message when loading Showtime Manager, and prevent users from viewing price cards.
- In Cinema Manager and Film Manager's Session entry, the Allow Complimentaries toggle now correctly respects the AutomaticallyAllowComps system setting.
- In Cinema Manager Showtime Manager, the indicators at the bottom of the timeline view indicating how many sessions are exiting each 15 minutes now align correctly with the timeline.
- When importing movieXchange films, users can now successfully add and save new censorship ratings without errors occurring.
Head Office
- We've fixed an issue that prevented price cards from loading in Cinema Manager and Head Office.
- The Film Hire Audit History now displays username information correctly.
- In earlier releases, under certain conditions, the CDN might attempt to load media files that were not yet available, which could lead to errors during processing. This issue has been resolved by filtering out unavailable media items, ensuring the CDN loads correctly and processes without errors.
- In Head Office, we've fixed an issue where ExportingPricingRulesTask included the wrong sales tax code in the exported JSON file. Now, the task correctly includes the versioned sales tax code linked to a cinema or cinema group, ensuring accurate export behavior and sales tax application for Pricing Rules.
- We've fixed an issue that prevented price cards from loading in Cinema Manager and Head Office.
- When selecting a sales tax in a pricing rule, we've fixed an issue where a warning message would appear incorrectly. The message, which warned that no cinemas or cinema groups are linked to the selected sales tax, now only appears when applicable.
- We've fixed an issue where price overrides set in a pricing rule weren't correctly applying to ticket base prices and adjustments across a group of cinemas.
- We've improved performance for the HO Upload Import task, reducing timeouts for customers with many sites.
Sales Server
- Sales Server no longer returns bad selling data when Web Loader requests concession buttons and concession tabs data, fixing an issue which could have caused data from Connect to not be updated.
- The Sales Server Cleanup scheduled task no longer fails to complete orders that were aborted unexpectedly during the completion process, leaving them permanently stuck in the “in‑progress” state. Now, an expiry has been added to this state, allowing the task to eventually complete these orders. The default expiry is ten minutes, and can be configured using the task setting AnotherCallAlreadyInProgressForOrderExpireMinutes.
- Sales Server now provides screen information as part of selling and booking data, allowing Lumos Living Ticket to update a screen after a session swap.
- We've fixed an issue which stopped booking fees for package tickets from being excluded if the maximum and minimum fee for the package ticket type is set at 0 in Booking Fee Maintenance.
- We've fixed an issue in Sales Server where Promo Payment Engine sometimes didn't apply on remote sales channels when expected to.
- When made-in-advance recipes are used as components within made-at-sale-time recipes, they (the components) are now available as smart modifiers in Sales Server.
Service Framework
- Existing Cinema site information is correctly retrieved when connecting to a central Service Framework installation during a child Service Framework installation.
Moviegoer Engagement fixes
Loyalty
- We've fixed an issue when reactivating a subscriber where the subscriber page would remain on Pending Payment instead of completing reactivation.
- When you upgrade to the latest version of Loyalty, timestamps that were previously recorded in UTC (for example, transaction-creation time and membership-creation time) are now, correctly, recorded in local time.
