What is movie pinning?

Movie pinning is a feature that allows users to 'lock' one or more seed titles selected through the Insights modules' movie search. The similar movies that are generated will always be relevant to the pinned title(s). Currently, the similar movies are generated based on all movies the user has selected.

When should I pin movies?

We recommend users pin titles when they have a strong comp title, allowing the suggested similar movies to be true to that seed movie. As an example, a strong comp title could be 'Thor 2' for 'Thor Ragnarok', or 'Girl's Trip' for 'Rough Night'. You should not pin a title if the target movie is more of a niche one like "Get Out" or 'Battle of the Sexes'.

Where can I find the Pin icon?

You can see the pin icon on the left-hand side of each comp title. 

Movie Insights Configuration

How often are similarity scores being recalculated?

The similarity scores are calculated once every day. This allows scores to be recalculated based on tickets sold since the last calculation.
