Price cards group different ticket types together to override their default prices in specific circumstances, such as different prices on different days, or during special events. This also helps to reduce the number of ticket types required.

Price cards can be standalone, or part of a price card group using a base/derived structure:

• Standalone Price Cards define which tickets are available at specified times, and their price. A simple system might have a price card for weekday sessions, as well as another price card for weekend sessions where tickets are slightly more expensive and discounted/complimentary tickets are not available.
• Price Card Groups consist of a single Base Price Card which determines the price of tickets, as well as any number of Derived Price Cards which determine the subset of tickets available at specified times and inherit the base ticket price from the Base Price Card. Ticket Price Adjustments can then be used to alter the price of tickets on Derived Price Cards.

Price Cards also have other features to help with streamlining the maintenance of ticket prices:

• Ticket Price Adjustments are used in conjunction with Price Card Groups to apply standard pricing changes between Base and Derived Price Cards.
• Referenced Ticket Prices are used to base the price of Ticket Type A on the price of Ticket Type B, so that when the price of Ticket Type B is changed Ticket Type A will automatically be changed to the same price.

You can apply price cards to sessions in Cinema Manager > Showtime Manager.

Example

Cinemas often offer tickets at a reduced price on traditionally slower days. Without price cards, this would require many different ticket types:

Instead, you could create just two generic ticket types: Adult $15.00 and Child $10.00, and add these to a price card for Tuesday sessions with a ticket price adjustment of -$2.00.
