POS supports the use of a variety of devices for terminal log on and security override. Keypads and keyboards are used by default, but other devices can also be set up.
Configuring devices for workstations
For each workstation with an alternate log on device, set up the appropriate security reader.
- Open a workstation at Cinema Manager > Mainetenance > Workstations & profiles.
- Select the Input Devices tab.
- Locate the Security Reader section and select the required device using Type.
Note: There are four options: No security reader, Magnetic stripe reader, Barcode reader, Fingerprint reader.
- If you selected Magnetic Stripe Reader or Barcode Reader was selected, you'll need to set up the relevant device. Both can be configured in the Input Devices tab under the Stripe Reader and Barcode Scanners sections respectively.
Configuring security IDs for staff
If your device uses an alphanumeric identifier, such as a barcode number, this must be entered in the User form for all relevant staff members.
Select a staff member under Cinema Manager > Users. Enter the alphanumeric identifier in the Security ID field. Repeat this for each staff member who'll use the device.
