Create a new POS Designer Profile can be created from scratch, created from an existing profile or converted from a Concession Profile.
Creating a completely new profile
Creating a new profile from the beginning will provide a Tickets page with default setting on the Box Office tab. No Concessions pages will be provided. These pages can be created manually.
In the POS Designer application, select New from the file menu to create a completely new profile.
Creating a profile from an existing profile
Creating a new profile from an existing profile will make a complete copy of the selected profile design, including all pages created for the profile, which can then be altered as required. Creating a profile from an existing profile will save time if the profile required is very similar to an existing one.
In the POS Designer application, open the profile you wish to make a copy of, and select Create Copy from the file menu.
Converting a Concessions Profile to a POS Designer Profile
Note: Only POS terminals can use POS Designer Profiles. Other Sales Channels such as Kios require Concessions Profiles.
- In the POS Designer application, select Create Copy from the file menu. The Open Designer window will display.
- Select the unconverted profile you wish to convert. Unconverted profiles are indicated by the popcorn image and the text (unconverted) next to the profile name.
- Click the OK button to ensure that the old Concession Profile is not overwritten and erased.
- Save the copy with a new name.
Note: The profile will now be available as a POS Designer profile, as well as retaining the old unconverted Concession Profile.
- Changes can then be made to the new POS Designer profile.
Note: If the unconverted profile is opened in POS Designer and saved without about copied, the new concerted profile will overwrite the old unconverted profile. This can cause problems if other Sales Channels such as Kiosk were using the old unconverted profile, since they can only use Concession Profiles and not POS Designer Profiles.
It will be possible to open the converted profile in V3 POS and it will display all the old buttons it had at the point of conversion. However, it will not be possible to edit the profile using Concession Profile Maintenance as it will be marked as an upgraded profile in the database.
